Jeremiah 2 · Grade 3
Two Wrong Things
Read the Story
God sent Jeremiah to speak to Jerusalem. God remembered the kindness of their youth. Long ago they loved him like a bride. They followed him in the wilderness.
God brought them into a good land full of fruit. But the people forgot him. They went after worthless things. Even the priests did not ask where God was.
God said his people did two wrong things. They left him, the spring of living waters. Then they dug their own cisterns. A cistern is a hole that holds water. But theirs were broken and could not hold water.
Memory Verse
““For my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the spring of living waters, and cut out cisterns for themselves: broken cisterns that can’t hold water.”
