Jeremiah 16 · Grade 3
A New Way Home
Read the Story
God asked Jeremiah to live in a special way. He was not to marry or have children in that place. He was not to go to big feasts. His life was a sign that hard days were coming.
God said his eyes were on all their ways. Nothing was hidden from him. The people had followed other gods instead of him.
But God also gave hope. Long ago he brought Israel out of Egypt. One day people would talk about an even bigger rescue. God would bring his people back from the land of the north to the land he gave their fathers. Jeremiah called God his strength and his refuge.
Memory Verse
“Yahweh, my strength, my stronghold, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the nations will come to you from the ends of the earth, and will say, “Our fathers have inherited nothing but lies, vanity and things in which there is no profit.”
