Jeremiah 14 · Grade 3
The Hope of Israel
Read the Story
God sent Jeremiah a message about a drought. The people of Judah were sad. Nobles sent their little ones to the cisterns, but they found no water. The ground was cracked because no rain had fallen.
The people prayed. They said their sins were many. They called God the hope of Israel and its Savior in the time of trouble. They asked God not to leave them.
Some prophets said everything would be fine. But God had not sent them. At the end, the people asked a question. Can the sky give showers by itself? No, only God can. They said they would wait for him, because he made all these things.
Memory Verse
“Are there any among the vanities of the nations that can cause rain? Or can the sky give showers? Aren’t you he, Yahweh our God? Therefore we will wait for you; for you have made all these things.”
