James says to ask God for wisdom. Wisdom means knowing the right thing to do. God gives to all who ask. Every good gift comes from God.

Be quick to listen and slow to speak. Be slow to get angry. Do what God’s word says. Do not just hear it. Help children who have no parents, and help widows.
