Hosea 9 · Grade 3
Days of Reckoning
Read the Story
Hosea told Israel not to rejoice like the nations. They had been unfaithful to their God. Their threshing floor and wine press would not feed them. They would not dwell in Yahweh's land.
The days of reckoning have come. The people called the prophet a fool. The Bible says, A prophet watches over Ephraim with my God. But the people set traps for him.
God remembered the beginning. I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness. He saw their fathers like the first ripe figs. But they turned to idols. Because they didn't listen to him, they would be wanderers among the nations.
Memory Verse
“I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness. I saw your fathers as the first ripe in the fig tree at its first season; but they came to Baal Peor, and consecrated themselves to the shameful thing, and became abominable like that which they loved.”
