Hosea 8 · Grade 3

Sow the Wind, Reap the Whirlwind

Name Date

Read the Story

God told Hosea to put the trumpet to his lips. Israel had broken God's covenant and rebelled against His law. They chose kings without asking God.

They made idols of their silver and gold. In Samaria they had a calf idol. God said the workman made it, and it is no God. It would be broken in pieces.

God said, For they sow the wind, and they will reap the whirlwind. Their bad choices would bring big trouble. God wrote for them the many things of His law, but they treated it as strange. Israel has forgotten his Maker.

Memory Verse

“For they sow the wind, and they will reap the whirlwind. He has no standing grain. The stalk will yield no head. If it does yield, strangers will swallow it up.”

Hosea 8:7 (WEB)
