Read the Story

The people said they would go back to God. They said God would heal them. They said He would come to them like the rain.

But their love for God did not last. It was like the morning dew that goes away. God wanted more than gifts and offerings. He wanted them to be kind and to know Him.

Memory Verse

“For I desire mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.”

Hosea 6:6 (WEB)

Take It Home

For families: talk about these together.

  • The people said God would heal them and bind up their wounds. When have you needed God to make you feel better?
  • God is looking for loyalty that lasts. How can you stay close to God every day, not just sometimes?
