Genesis 49 · Grade 2
A Promise of a King
Read the Story
Jacob was about to die. He called his twelve sons together. He told them to come and listen to their father. Then he told each son something about his future.
Jacob told Judah that kings would come from his family. Many years later, King David came from Judah's family. The New Testament says Jesus came from Judah's family too!
Jacob said Joseph was like a fruitful vine. God the Shepherd had helped Joseph. After Jacob blessed his sons, he asked to be buried with Abraham and Isaac. Then Jacob died.
