Genesis 48 · Grade 2
Grandpa Jacob's Blessing
Read the Story
Jacob was very old and sick. Joseph brought his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim, to see their grandpa. Jacob said he never thought he would see Joseph's face again, and now God had let him see Joseph's children too!
Jacob put his hands on the boys' heads to bless them. Joseph wanted the right hand on Manasseh, the older boy. But Jacob crossed his hands and put his right hand on Ephraim, the younger boy.
Jacob prayed that the God who had been his shepherd all his life would bless these boys. Then he told Joseph, God will be with you.
Memory Verse
“Israel said to Joseph, “Behold, I am dying, but God will be with you, and bring you again to the land of your fathers.”
