Genesis 42 · Grade 2
The Brothers Come for Food
Read the Story
There was no food in Canaan. Jacob heard that there was grain in Egypt. He sent ten of his sons to buy some. He kept the youngest, Benjamin, at home.
The brothers came to Joseph and bowed down to him. Joseph knew them right away, but they did not know him! Joseph acted tough. He said, You are spies! They said they were honest men.
Joseph told them to bring their youngest brother. He kept Simeon in prison until they came back. The brothers said to each other that this was happening because of what they did to Joseph. They were sorry.
