Genesis 4 · Grade 2
Two Brothers
Read the Story
Adam and Eve had two sons. Cain was a farmer who grew crops. Abel was a shepherd who took care of sheep.
One day both brothers brought gifts to God. Abel brought the best of his sheep. God was pleased with Abel and his gift. God was not pleased with Cain's gift, and Cain became very angry.
God warned Cain to do what is right and not let sin win. But Cain did not listen. He hurt his brother, and Abel died. God punished Cain, but God still kept him safe. Later God gave Adam and Eve another son named Seth.
Memory Verse
“Again she gave birth, to Cain’s brother Abel. Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.”
