Genesis 26 · Grade 2
Wells of Peace
Read the Story
There was no food in the land. God told Isaac to stay in the land, and promised to be with him and bless him. Isaac obeyed. He planted seeds, and God gave him a big harvest!
Isaac's servants dug a well and found water. But some other men said the water was theirs. Isaac did not fight. He moved and dug another well. The men argued about that one too.
Isaac moved again and dug one more well. This time nobody argued. Isaac said, For now Yahweh has made room for us. That night God told Isaac not to be afraid, because God was with him. Isaac built an altar and worshiped God.
Memory Verse
“Yahweh appeared to him the same night, and said, “I am the God of Abraham your father. Don’t be afraid, for I am with you, and will bless you, and multiply your offspring for my servant Abraham’s sake.””
