Abraham Says Goodbye

Name Date

Read the Story

Sarah lived to be 127 years old. Then she died in the land of Canaan. Abraham was very sad. He cried for Sarah because he loved her.

Abraham needed a place to bury Sarah. He went to the people who lived in that land. He bowed and spoke politely to them. He asked to buy a field with a cave in it.

A man named Ephron owned the field. Abraham paid him with silver. Then Abraham buried Sarah in the cave. It was the first land in Canaan that Abraham owned.

Memory Verse

“Sarah died in Kiriath Arba (also called Hebron), in the land of Canaan. Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her.”
