Do Not Grow Weary

Name Date

Read the Story

Paul told the believers to help gently when someone does wrong. He wrote, Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

Each person should look at his own work and not compare with others. Paul said people reap what they sow. If someone plants selfish seeds, the harvest is bad. If someone plants seeds of the Spirit, the harvest is life forever.

Paul said not to get tired of doing good. The harvest will come at the right time. Believers should do good to everyone, especially to God's family. Paul wrote the end of his letter with large letters in his own hand. He was glad for the cross of Jesus.

Galatians 6 · Grade 4

Sowing and Reaping

Name Date

Read and Think

Paul tells the believers that if someone is caught in a sin, those who are spiritual should restore that person gently. They should watch themselves so they are not tempted too. Carrying each other's burdens fulfills the law of Christ. Anyone who thinks he is something when he is nothing fools himself. Each person should test his own work instead of comparing himself with others.

Those who are taught God's word should share good things with their teachers. God cannot be fooled. A person reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please selfish desires will reap ruin, but whoever sows to please the Spirit will reap eternal life. So believers should not grow tired of doing good, because at the right time they will reap a harvest if they do not give up. They should do good to everyone, especially to the family of believers.

Paul takes the pen and writes with large letters in his own hand. The false teachers want to make a good impression and avoid trouble for the cross of Christ. Paul will boast only in the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ. What counts is not circumcision but a new creation. Paul blesses all who follow this rule with peace and mercy. He says he bears the marks of Jesus on his body, and he ends with a blessing of grace.

Galatians 6 · Grade 5

Boasting in the Cross

Name Date

Read and Think

Paul applies life in the Spirit to community. If someone is overtaken in a trespass, those who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness, keeping watch on themselves lest they too be tempted. Believers bear one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ, which is the law of love. At the same time, each must test his own work and carry his own load, avoiding the self-deception of thinking oneself something.

Those who are taught the word should share all good things with their teachers. Paul states a principle as firm as farming. God is not mocked; whatever one sows, that he will also reap. Sowing to the flesh yields corruption, while sowing to the Spirit yields eternal life. Therefore believers must not grow weary of doing good, for in due season they will reap if they do not give up. As they have opportunity, they should do good to everyone, especially to the household of faith.

Paul writes in large letters with his own hand (6:11). He exposes the motive of the circumcision party. They want to make a good showing in the flesh and avoid persecution for the cross, and they wish to boast in the Galatians' compliance. Paul will boast only in the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to him and he to the world. Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only a new creation. He pronounces peace and mercy on all who walk by this rule and on the Israel of God. He carries in his body the marks of Jesus, and he ends with grace.
