Ezekiel 48 · Grade 4
The Last Word
Read and Think
Ezekiel 48 finishes the vision of the land. Each tribe received a strip of land running from the east side to the west side. Seven tribes were north of the center and five were south. Every tribe had a place, and no one was left out.
In the center lay the holy portion. The sanctuary stood there, surrounded by land for the priests and the Levites. Next to it was the city and its farmland, with the prince's land on both sides.
The city had twelve gates, three on each side, each named for a tribe of Israel. The whole book ends with the city's new name: Yahweh is there. The book that began with God's glory leaving the temple ends with God living among His people.
