Ezekiel 47 · Grade 4

Everything Will Live

Name Date

Read and Think

Ezekiel says the man brought him to the door of the temple. Water flowed out from under the threshold toward the east. The man measured a thousand cubits, and the water was ankle-deep. Then it was knee-deep, then waist-deep, and at last a river too deep to cross.

The man explained that the river would flow into the Dead Sea and heal its waters. Wherever the river went, every living creature would live, and there would be a great many fish. Fishermen would stand on the shore and spread their nets.

Fruit trees grew on both banks. Their leaves would not wither, and they would bear fruit every month, because the water came from the sanctuary. God then set the borders of the land for the twelve tribes. Even foreigners living there would receive land.

Memory Verse

“It will happen that every living creature which swarms, in every place where the rivers come, will live. Then there will be a very great multitude of fish; for these waters have come there, and the waters of the sea will be healed, and everything will live wherever the river comes.”
