Yahweh's Glory Filled Yahweh's House
Read and Think
Ezekiel says the man brought him back to the outer east gate, and it was shut. God said it would remain shut, because Yahweh, the God of Israel, had entered by it. Only the prince could sit in the gateway to eat before Yahweh.
Then Ezekiel saw Yahweh's glory filling the house again, and he fell on his face. God told him to mark well all the laws of the temple. Israel had let people who did not honor God serve in his sanctuary. Some Levites had gone after idols, so they would serve as gatekeepers and helpers, not as priests at the altar.
The priests descended from Zadok had stayed faithful when Israel went astray. They would come near to serve God. They would wear linen, keep themselves holy, and teach the people the difference between the holy and the common. They would judge fairly. God himself would be their inheritance.
