Ezekiel 29 · Grade 3
A Staff of Reed
Read the Story
God told Ezekiel to speak against Pharaoh, king of Egypt. Pharaoh was proud. He said the river was his own. He said he made it for himself.
Israel leaned on Egypt for help. But Egypt was like a reed staff. When they leaned on it, it broke and hurt them.
God said Egypt would become a small, lowly kingdom. Israel would not trust Egypt any more. They would know that God is Yahweh.
Memory Verse
““‘“All the inhabitants of Egypt will know that I am Yahweh, because they have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel.”
