Ezekiel 17 · Grade 3
The Eagles and the Cedar
Read the Story
God told Ezekiel to tell a riddle. A great eagle came to Lebanon and took the top of a cedar. He planted a seed in fruitful soil beside many waters.
The seed grew into a vine. But the vine bent its roots toward another great eagle. God asked if it would prosper.
Then God made a promise. He would take a tender twig from the top of the cedar. He would plant it on a high mountain of Israel. It would become a good cedar, and birds of every kind would dwell in its shade.
Memory Verse
“I will plant it in the mountain of the height of Israel; and it will produce boughs, and bear fruit, and be a good cedar. Birds of every kind will dwell in the shade of its branches.”
