Ezekiel 12 · Grade 3
A Sign for the People
Read the Story
God told Ezekiel that the people had eyes to see but did not see. They had ears to hear but did not hear. So God gave Ezekiel a sign to act out.
Ezekiel brought out his baggage by day, as if he were moving. In the evening he dug through the wall with his hand. He carried his baggage on his shoulder in the dark.
The people asked what he was doing. God told him to say he was a sign. The people of Jerusalem would also go into exile. God said his words would not be delayed any longer.
Memory Verse
“I did so as I was commanded. I brought out my baggage by day, as baggage for moving, and in the evening I dug through the wall with my hand. I brought it out in the dark, and bore it on my shoulder in their sight.”
