So They Will Know

Name Date

Read and Think

God said the plagues would happen so that the Egyptians would know He is Yahweh. The plagues were not random disasters. They showed God's power and judgment.

Pharaoh's magicians could copy some signs, but Aaron's rod swallowed theirs. God's power is always greater than false powers.

When God turned the Nile to blood, He showed He is Lord over the Nile and all creation. Pharaoh still hardened his heart.

Show What You Know

  1. Why did God send the plagues?

  2. What did Aaron's rod swallowing the others show?

  3. What did turning the Nile to blood show about Pharaoh's power?

  4. What did Pharaoh do after the Nile turned to blood?

Think About It

  1. Pharaoh saw God's power but refused to listen. Why is it dangerous to harden your heart?

  2. What false gods do people trust today instead of the true God?

Memory Verse

The Egyptians shall know that I am Yahweh when I stretch out my hand on Egypt, and bring the children of Israel out from among them.”
