Who Made Man's Mouth?

Name Date

Read the Story

Moses said, They will not believe me. God gave him three signs. His rod became a snake and then a rod again. His hand became leprous, white as snow, and then was healed. And if they still didn't believe, water from the river would become blood on dry ground.

Moses said, O Lord, I am not eloquent. He added, I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. Yahweh said, Who made man's mouth? He added, Isn't it I, Yahweh? Then He said, Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth, and teach you what you shall speak. Moses said, Oh, Lord, please send someone else. God's anger burned against Moses, but He said Aaron would be his spokesman.

Moses took his wife and sons and returned toward Egypt with the rod of God in his hand. God told Moses that Pharaoh would refuse, and that Israel was God's firstborn son. Aaron met Moses at the mountain of God. They gathered the elders, Aaron spoke God's words, and Moses did the signs. The people believed, and when they heard that God had seen their affliction, they bowed their heads and worshiped.
