Exodus 25 · Grade 4
God Among His People
Read and Think
God asked for gifts from willing hearts. He did not force anyone to give. God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7).
The tabernacle would show that God lived among His people. The ark was the most holy object. God said He would meet with Moses above the mercy seat, between the cherubim.
The bread showed that God provides. The lampstand gave light in the holy place. In the New Testament, Jesus calls himself the bread of life and the light of the world. God's dwelling with His people is seen, Christians believe, in Jesus, who lived among us (John 1:14).
