Exodus 14 · Grade 2
God Opens the Sea
Read the Story
God's people camped by the sea. Then Pharaoh changed his mind. He chased them with his soldiers and chariots. God's people were very scared. They cried and wished they had never left Egypt.
Moses told them not to be afraid. He said to stand still and watch God save them, because God would fight for them. The cloud moved behind God's people to keep the Egyptians away.
Moses held out his hand over the sea. God sent a strong wind all night. The water split, and there was a dry path! The people walked through with walls of water on each side. When the Egyptians followed, the water came back. God's people were safe, and they trusted God.
Memory Verse
“Moses said to the people, “Don’t be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of Yahweh, which he will work for you today; for you will never again see the Egyptians whom you have seen today.”
