Exodus 11 · Grade 3
A Distinction
Read the Story
Yahweh told Moses he would bring one more plague on Pharaoh and on Egypt. Afterward Pharaoh would let them go, and would even drive them out. He told the people to ask their neighbors for jewels of silver and gold. Yahweh gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Moses also was very great in Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh's servants and the people.
Moses warned Pharaoh that about midnight God would go out into the middle of Egypt, and the firstborn of Egypt would die. There would be a great cry in Egypt. But God would protect Israel, that you may know that Yahweh makes a distinction between the Egyptians and Israel.
Moses said Pharaoh's servants would bow before him and beg Israel to leave. Then he went out from Pharaoh in hot anger. Yahweh said, Pharaoh won't listen to you, that my wonders may be multiplied. Moses and Aaron had done all these wonders, but Pharaoh's heart was hardened.
Memory Verse
“But against any of the children of Israel a dog won’t even bark or move its tongue, against man or animal, that you may know that Yahweh makes a distinction between the Egyptians and Israel.”
