Deuteronomy 5 · Grade 2
Rules from a Loving God
Read the Story
Moses called the people together. He said, Hear, Israel. God made a promise with us at the mountain. God spoke from the fire.
God said, I am the One who brought you out of Egypt. Have no other gods. Do not make idols. Use My name well. Rest on the Sabbath. Honor your father and mother.
Do not murder. Be true in marriage. Do not steal. Do not lie about others. Do not want what is not yours. God wrote these on two stones. The people were afraid. They asked Moses to listen to God for them.
Memory Verse
““I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.”
