Deuteronomy 34 · Grade 3
Face to Face
Read the Story
Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo. From the top of Pisgah, God showed him all the land, from Gilead to Dan, to the western sea, and to Zoar. God said this was the land He swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Moses saw it, but would not go over.
Moses the servant of Yahweh died there, as God had said. God buried him in a valley in Moab, and no one knows his grave. He was 120 years old. His eye was not dim, nor his strength gone. Israel wept for him thirty days.
Joshua was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him. Israel listened to Joshua. No prophet has arisen in Israel like Moses, whom Yahweh knew face to face, who did great signs and wonders.
Memory Verse
“Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him. The children of Israel listened to him, and did as Yahweh commanded Moses.”
