Deuteronomy 11 · Grade 3
Blessing or Curse
Read the Story
Moses told Israel to love God and keep His commands. Their own eyes had seen what God did to Pharaoh and the Red Sea, and how He cared for them in the wilderness.
Egypt was watered by hand, like a garden. But the new land had hills and valleys and drank rain from heaven. God's eyes were on it all year. If they loved God, He would give the early and late rain for grain, new wine, and oil.
They must lay up God's words in their hearts, teach their children, and write the words on their door posts. Moses set before them a blessing and a curse. The blessing would be announced on Mount Gerizim and the curse on Mount Ebal.
Memory Verse
“You shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.”
