Daniel 8 · Grade 3
Gabriel Explains
Read the Story
Daniel saw a vision by the river Ulai. A ram with two horns pushed westward, northward, and southward. No animals could stand before him. Then a male goat came from the west and didn't touch the ground. The goat had a notable horn between his eyes. The goat beat the ram.
The goat grew very great, but then its big horn was broken. Four horns came up in its place. Then a little horn grew proud and tried to fight against God's people and His temple.
Daniel sought to understand the vision. A voice said, Gabriel, make this man understand the vision. Gabriel told Daniel the ram was the kings of Media and Persia. The goat was the king of Greece. Daniel was so tired that he was sick for some days. Then he rose up and did the king's business.
Memory Verse

For families: talk about these together.
- The ram seemed too strong for anyone to stop, until the goat came. Why should we not be afraid of the strong things in this world?
- The vision left Daniel worn out for days. How can God help you when you feel tired?
