3 John 1 · Grade 3
No Greater Joy
Read the Story
The elder writes to Gaius the beloved, whom he loves in truth. He prays that Gaius may prosper and be healthy. He rejoiced greatly when brothers came and told about how Gaius walks in truth. I have no greater joy than this: to hear about my children walking in truth.
Gaius did a faithful work for brothers who were strangers. They went out for the sake of the Name. We therefore ought to receive such, that we may be fellow workers for the truth.
But Diotrephes, who loves to be first, would not welcome the brothers. Beloved, don’t imitate that which is evil, but that which is good. He who does good is of God. Demetrius has a good report from everyone. The elder hopes to see Gaius soon.
