2 Samuel 9 · Grade 2
A Seat at the Table
Read the Story
David loved his friend Jonathan. Jonathan was gone now. David asked, Is anyone left from Saul's family? I want to be kind to him for Jonathan.
A man named Ziba said, Jonathan has a son. His feet are hurt. His name was Mephibosheth. David sent for him.
Mephibosheth bowed down. He was afraid. David said, Don't be afraid. I will be kind to you. You will eat at my table always. David gave him land too.
Memory Verse
“David said to him, “Don’t be afraid, for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father’s sake, and will restore to you all the land of Saul your father. You will eat bread at my table continually.””
