2 Samuel 20 · Grade 2
The Wise Woman
Read the Story
A man named Sheba made trouble. He blew a trumpet. He said, We do not want David! Many men followed him.
David's men went after Sheba. Joab led them. Sheba hid in a city called Abel. Joab's men began to break down the wall.
A wise woman called out from the city. She said, Let me speak to Joab. She said, We are people who want peace. Joab said he only wanted Sheba. The woman spoke to her people with wisdom. The city was saved. Joab blew the trumpet, and everyone went home.
Memory Verse
“I am among those who are peaceable and faithful in Israel. You seek to destroy a city and a mother in Israel. Why will you swallow up Yahweh’s inheritance?””
