Read the Story

Absalom wanted to be king. He stood by the city gate. He told people, I would be fair to you. He kissed them. He stole the hearts of the people.

Absalom went to Hebron. He made himself king. A man told David, The people are following Absalom. So David left Jerusalem with his family and helpers.

A man named Ittai said, I will stay with you. The priests had the ark. David said, Take it back. If God is pleased with me, He will bring me back. David went up a hill. He wept as he went.

Memory Verse

Ittai answered the king and said, “As Yahweh lives, and as my lord the king lives, surely in what place my lord the king is, whether for death or for life, your servant will be there also.”
