Bad News
Read the Story
A man ran to David. His clothes were torn. He had dirt on his head. He said, Saul and Jonathan are dead.
David was very sad. He tore his clothes. His men did too. They wept until night. They did not eat all day.
Jonathan was David's best friend. Saul was the king God chose. David made a sad song for them. He said they were fast like eagles. He said they were strong like lions.
Memory Verse
“Saul and Jonathan were lovely and pleasant in their lives. In their death, they were not divided. They were swifter than eagles. They were stronger than lions.”

For families: talk about these together.
- How can you be sad with someone who lost a person they love?
- How can you say kind things about people, even when they are gone?
