2 Kings 25 · Grade 2

A Sad Day and a Little Hope

Name Date

Read the Story

King Zedekiah did not obey. The army of Babylon came again. They stayed around Jerusalem a long time. The people had no food.

The army broke the wall. They burned God's house. They took most of the people to Babylon. Some poor people stayed to care for the vines and fields.

Many years later, the king of Babylon let King Jehoiachin out of prison. He gave him good clothes. He let him eat at his table every day. God had not forgotten David's family.

Memory Verse

“But the captain of the guard left some of the poorest of the land to work the vineyards and fields.”
