2 Kings 15 · Grade 3
A Kingdom Falling Apart
Read the Story
Azariah became king of Judah at sixteen. He ruled fifty-two years and did right. But the high places stayed. The Lord struck him with leprosy. He lived in a separate house until he died. His son Jotham judged the people.
In Israel, Zechariah ruled six months. He was the fourth king from Jehu, as God had said. Then Shallum took the throne for one month. Menahem took it from him. Then came Pekahiah and Pekah. Each king did evil like Jeroboam.
Pul, king of Assyria, came against Israel. Menahem paid him a thousand talents of silver. Later Tiglath Pileser of Assyria took many cities. He carried people away to Assyria. In Judah, Jotham did right and built the upper gate of the Lord's house.
Memory Verse
“He did that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes, according to all that his father Amaziah had done.”
