2 Kings 11 · Grade 2
A Boy King
Read the Story
A bad queen named Athaliah wanted to rule. She tried to harm the king's family. But Joash was a baby. His aunt hid him in God's house.
Joash hid there for six years. Then Jehoiada the priest brought him out. He put a crown on Joash. The people clapped. They said, Long live the king!
Athaliah's bad rule ended. The people made a promise. They would be God's people. They broke down the house of Baal.
Memory Verse
“Jehoiada made a covenant between Yahweh and the king and the people, that they should be Yahweh’s people; also between the king and the people.”
2 Kings 11:17 (WEB)
