2 Chronicles 8 · Grade 4
A Kingdom at Work
Read and Think
After twenty years, Solomon had built Yahweh's house and his own palace. He rebuilt the cities Huram gave him. Israelites lived in them. He built Tadmor in the wilderness and many storage cities.
Solomon moved Pharaoh's daughter out of David's city into a house he built for her. He said the places where the ark had come were holy. Then he offered burnt offerings as Moses commanded, on the Sabbaths, the new moons, and the three yearly feasts.
He set the priests and Levites in their groups. He put doorkeepers at every gate. David the man of God had commanded this. So the work was done from start to finish. Solomon's ships and Huram's servants sailed to Ophir and brought back four hundred fifty talents of gold.
