2 Chronicles 32 · Grade 3
A Greater One
Read the Story
Sennacherib king of Assyria came into Judah. Hezekiah and his leaders stopped up the springs outside the city. He built up the broken wall and made many weapons.
Hezekiah gathered the people and spoke kindly to them. Be strong and courageous. Don't be afraid of the king of Assyria. There is a greater one with us than with him. An arm of flesh is with him, but Yahweh our God is with us to help us. The people rested on his words.
Sennacherib's servants spoke against Yahweh. They said God could not save his people. Hezekiah and Isaiah prayed and cried to heaven. Yahweh sent an angel and saved Jerusalem. Hezekiah was honored in the sight of all nations.
Memory Verse
“An arm of flesh is with him, but Yahweh our God is with us to help us and to fight our battles.” The people rested themselves on the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.”
