2 Chronicles 30 · Grade 3
Return to Yahweh
Read the Story
Hezekiah decided to keep the Passover. He sent letters to all Israel and Judah. The letters told the people to return to Yahweh, for He is gracious and merciful. God would not turn away His face from them if they returned to Him.
The messengers went from city to city. Many laughed and mocked them. But some men of Asher, Manasseh, and Zebulun humbled themselves and came. God gave Judah one heart to obey.
Many had not cleansed themselves. Hezekiah prayed for Yahweh to pardon all who set their hearts to seek God. Yahweh listened and healed the people. They kept the feast seven days, and then seven more. The priests blessed the people, and their prayer came up to heaven.
Memory Verse
“Then the Levitical priests arose and blessed the people. Their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy habitation, even to heaven.”
