Rescued and Hidden

Read the Story

Ahaziah was made king. He walked in the ways of Ahab's house, because his mother Athaliah counseled him to do wickedly. Others from Ahab's family were his advisers, to his ruin.

Ahaziah went with Joram king of Israel. God had chosen Jehu to end Ahab's house. Then a wicked queen took over.

Athaliah, a wicked queen, took over. But Jehoshabeath, the king's daughter, rescued Joash and hid him with his nurse. She was the wife of Jehoiada the priest. Joash was hidden in God's house six years.

Memory Verse

“He was with them hidden in God’s house six years while Athaliah reigned over the land.”
