2 Chronicles 21 · Grade 3
A Lamp for David
Read the Story
Jehoram was thirty-two when he became king. He walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, as Ahab's house did. He did evil in Yahweh's sight.
However, Yahweh would not destroy David's house, because of his covenant with David. He promised David a lamp for him and his sons always. Later, Edom and Libnah broke away from Judah.
A letter came to Jehoram from Elijah the prophet. It said Jehoram did not follow the good ways of his father. Trouble would come. Jehoram did not obey God. But God still kept His promise to David.
Memory Verse
“However Yahweh would not destroy David’s house, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a lamp to him and to his children always.”
