2 Chronicles 17 · Grade 3
The Book of the Law
Read the Story
Jehoshaphat reigned after Asa. Yahweh was with him, because he walked in the first ways of David. He sought the God of his father and walked in his commandments.
His heart was lifted up in the ways of Yahweh. He took away the high places and the Asherah poles. All Judah brought him gifts, and he had riches and honor.
In his third year he sent princes, Levites, and priests to teach in the cities. They had the book of Yahweh's law with them. They went through all the cities of Judah and taught the people. The fear of Yahweh fell on the kingdoms around, and they did not fight Judah.
Memory Verse
“They taught in Judah, having the book of Yahweh’s law with them. They went about throughout all the cities of Judah and taught among the people.”
