2 Chronicles 11 · Grade 4
Hearts Set on God
Read and Think
Rehoboam gathered a large army to win back the kingdom. But Yahweh's word came through Shemaiah: they must not go up or fight against their brothers, for this thing was from God. They listened to Yahweh's words and turned back.
Rehoboam then strengthened Judah. He built fortified cities, put captains in them, and stored food, oil, wine, shields, and spears. Judah and Benjamin stayed with him.
Jeroboam set up his own priests for the high places and calf idols, and cast off the Levites. So the priests and Levites left their homes and came to Judah. After them, all who set their hearts to seek Yahweh came to Jerusalem to sacrifice. For three years they walked in the way of David and Solomon.
