1 Samuel 7 · Grade 2
The Stone of Help
Read the Story
The people of Israel were sad. They wanted God. Samuel said to put away their false gods. They did. They served the Lord only.
The people met at Mizpah. Samuel prayed for them. The Philistines came to fight. The people were afraid. They asked Samuel to keep crying to God.
Samuel offered a lamb and prayed. God thundered with a great sound. The Philistines ran away. Samuel set up a stone. He named it Ebenezer. It means God helped us.
Memory Verse
“Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, “Yahweh helped us until now.””
