1 Samuel 17 · Grade 2
David and the Giant
Read the Story
Goliath was a giant. He shouted at the army of Israel. He wanted a man to fight him. Saul and the men were afraid. For forty days, no one would go.
David brought food to his brothers. He heard the giant. David said God had saved him from a lion and a bear. God would save him from this giant too.
David did not wear Saul's armor. He took his staff and five smooth stones. He came in the name of the Lord. David slung a stone. It hit Goliath, and he fell. The battle is the Lord's!
Memory Verse
“David said, “Yahweh, who delivered me out of the paw of the lion and out of the paw of the bear, will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine.” Saul said to David, “Go! Yahweh will be with you.””
