1 Samuel 16: God Looks at the Heart

The Lord sent Samuel to Bethlehem to anoint one of Jesse's sons as king. When Samuel saw the tall Eliab, he thought this must be the one, but the Lord said He looks at the heart. Seven sons passed by, but none was chosen. The youngest, David, was keeping the sheep. Samuel anointed him, and the Spirit of the Lord came mightily on David. Later David played the harp for Saul when an evil spirit troubled him.
