The Bronze Worker
Read the Story
Solomon built his own house over thirteen years. He also built the House of the Forest of Lebanon, a hall for his throne where he judged, and a house for Pharaoh's daughter. All were made of costly cut stones and cedar.
Solomon sent for Hiram from Tyre. His mother was from the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a worker in bronze. Hiram was filled with wisdom and skill. He made two bronze pillars for the porch of the temple. He named one Jachin and the other Boaz.
Hiram cast a great round basin called the sea. It rested on twelve oxen, three facing each direction. He made ten bronze stands with basins, and pots, shovels, and bowls. Solomon made the golden altar, the golden table, and ten golden lampstands. Then he brought in the silver and gold that David had dedicated.
Memory Verse
“Thus all the work that King Solomon did in Yahweh’s house was finished. Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated—the silver, the gold, and the vessels—and put them in the treasuries of Yahweh’s house.”
