1 Kings 5 · Grade 2
Wood for the Temple
Read the Story
Hiram was the king of Tyre. He was a friend of David. He sent men to Solomon.
Solomon said he would build a house for God. God had told David that his son would build it. Solomon asked Hiram for cedar trees. Hiram was glad. He sent cedar and cypress wood by sea.
Solomon gave Hiram wheat and oil. There was peace between them. Many workers cut big stones. The stones were for the base of God's house.
Memory Verse
“Yahweh gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him. There was peace between Hiram and Solomon, and the two of them made a treaty together.”
