Read the Story

King Solomon ruled over all Israel. He had helpers such as priests, scribes, and a captain of the army. He also had twelve officers. Each one gave food for the king and his household for one month of the year.

Judah and Israel were as many as the sand by the sea. They ate and drank and were happy. Solomon ruled over many kingdoms, and he had peace on all sides. Each man lived in safety under his vine and under his fig tree.

God gave Solomon wisdom, understanding, and a mind as wide as the sand on the seashore. His wisdom was greater than the wisdom of Egypt. He spoke three thousand proverbs, and his songs were one thousand and five. He spoke about trees, animals, birds, creeping things, and fish. Kings heard of his wisdom and sent people to hear him.

Memory Verse

“God gave Solomon abundant wisdom, understanding, and breadth of mind like the sand that is on the seashore.”
